We went the first day and I have to say there was a weird vibe. There were many more people sitting down having conversations, there wasn’t this typical speakers podium where you go and you watch whatever B grade celebrity get up and tell you how to act, and we need change and nobody knows a way forward, people were actually sitting around in circles and talking about how things could change and what small changes could be made on the local level and what broad changes needed to be made on the national or global level.

We would say the process is the product. The actual process of talking and doing those kinds of things is what people wanted more than anything. In the camp you could tell there was a different rhythm to life, things moved really quickly when you were in the camp, it always felt like you were engaged in something very weighty and serious.

Then when you had to do normal people things like go to the grocery store or the doctors life moved incredibly slow, it was very banal and it felt very awkward to be able to talk to the person sitting next to you or walking along side you.

Where as in Occupy you felt very comfortable to just approach anyone.
